LEAVING A LEGACY
For your consideration
If you would like to include the Society as a beneficiary in your will, here are some things to consider:
You can specify a specific sum of money, or specific assets (eg: shares or real estate), or a percentage of your estate. You can have your legacy named in memory of someone.
Here is some suggested wording:
I give to the Royal Humane Society Of New Zealand absolutely the sum of $……….. to be used by the Society as the Court of Directors of the Society shall in its absolute discretion determine.
I declare that the receipt of the Secretary of the Society or any other employee of the Society authorised to give receipts shall be a sufficient discharge to my trustees who shall have no further responsibility as to the application of this legacy.
